Compass Express Career Structure

Compass Express pilots have a very simple career structure. All our pilots join as First Officers on the two smaller types (Metro/Beech 1900) and then progress from there. A common type rating exists so that crews can fly both the -100 and the -300 variant.

Grade 1: First Officer Metro/Beech 1900
After 50 hours promoted to:

Grade 2: First Officer Saab/Dash 8
After 50 hours promoted to:

Grade 3: Captain Metro/Beech 1900
After 75 hours promoted to:

Grade 4: Captain Saab/Dash8
After 100 hours promoted to:

Grade 5: Senior Captain (choice of type)

Transition arrangements: From 01 Jan 2007 when this structure commences the following changes will occur:

• Pilots who have joined but not yet flown will revert to First Officer, Metro/Beech.
• First Officers who have commenced flying will remain FO Saab/Dash 8.
• Captains will remain Captain Saab/Dash 8.
• Senior Captains may choose their type.
